Privacy Policy

This policy explains what FlashSlides collects, why, who processes it, how long we keep it and the choices you have. It covers the FlashSlides website, the FlashSlides API and the FlashSlides plugin for AI assistants such as ChatGPT.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: your name, email address and profile picture from Google Sign-In.
• Content you provide: presentation topics and text, links to web pages or YouTube videos, and PDF or Word documents you upload to build a presentation.
• Presentations we generate for you: slide titles, text, images and their public or private setting.
• Payment information: purchases are processed by Stripe. We receive the payment status and amount, not your card details.
• Usage and technical data: credit balance, generation history, API keys you create (stored only as a hash), and standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and request times.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Create, store and export the presentations you ask for.
• Run your account, credits and purchases.
• Keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
• Send service messages, such as receipts or important changes.
• Understand and improve how the service is used.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Service Providers

We share data only with providers that help us run FlashSlides:

• AI providers that write slide text and generate slide images from your topic or document content (including Replicate).
• DigitalOcean, which hosts our servers, database and file storage.
• Stripe for payments and Google for sign-in and, if you choose, Google Slides / Drive export.
• Analytics and error-reporting tools that help us keep the service working.

4. ChatGPT and Other Connected Apps

When you connect FlashSlides to an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, you sign in to FlashSlides and approve the connection. The assistant then receives an access token that lets it, on your behalf:

• see your credit balance and whether today's free presentation is available;
• create presentations from the topics, links and documents you give it;
• list your presentations and create temporary download links (PowerPoint, PDF or Word).

We receive only what the assistant sends to complete your request, such as your prompt text or a document you uploaded, and we return only the presentation details needed to answer it. We do not return your name or email address to the assistant. Presentations created from uploaded documents are private by default. You can disconnect at any time from the assistant's settings, which revokes its access. Access tokens expire after one hour and are stored only as hashes.

5. Retention and Deletion

Uploaded documents are used only to build your presentation and are deleted from our servers once it is generated. Presentations and account data are kept until you delete them or your account. You can delete individual presentations from your dashboard, or delete your whole account under Settings, which removes your presentations and personal data except records we must keep for accounting or legal reasons.

6. Public Presentations

Presentations marked public can be viewed by anyone with the link and may appear in our public archive. Mark a presentation private to keep it visible only to you.

7. Data Security

We use HTTPS everywhere, store secrets such as API keys and access tokens only as hashes, and limit access to personal data to what is needed to run the service.

8. Children

FlashSlides is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

9. Your Rights and Changes

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data by contacting us. If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know.
